The vehicle accelerates to the set desired speed provided there is no vehicle detected ahead traveling slower than the selected speed and the distance from this vehicle is less than the set desired distance.
The status display B switches from gray to orange.
    – or –
Push up and hold the control stalk on the steering wheel (setting 4, RESUME).
The vehicle accelerates to the set desired speed at a more sporty speed.

Warning messages

Fig. 5: Warning message on the multifunction display

Takeover prompt in active control mode (ACC active)
If adaptive cruise control has detected that braking assistance is required on the part of the driver, a warning signal sounds and a warning message appears on the multifunction display.

Insufficient braking during automatic deceleration through adaptive cruise control
In this case, the deceleration through adaptive cruise control is insufficient to prevent a collision.

  • Brake immediately.

Exceptional conditions with adaptive cruise control (ACC)

The adaptive cruise control is not available in the following cases:

  1. When the ignition is switched off.
  2. When PSM is off.
  3. If the driver’s door is opened and the driver’s seat belt is not fastened.
  4. When parking or maneuvering in very tight spaces.
  5. When the electric parking brake is activated.
  6. If the PDK selector lever is in position N, R or P.
  7. On upward or downward gradients of more than 20%.
  8. When Porsche Hill Control (PHC) is active (or on standby).

If one of these exceptional situations occurs when adaptive cruise control (ACC) is switched on, adaptive cruise control (ACC) will be switched off.

A corresponding message appears on the multifunction display.

Traffic situations in which vehicles cannot be reliably detected

The radar sensor for adaptive cruise control (ACC) scans a narrow, cone-shaped area in front of your vehicle.

Depending on the traffic situation and the size of the vehicle up ahead, detection may be restricted or unstable. The system may brake too late or unexpectedly.

Stationary vehicles are not detected. The system cannot react to them.

  • Particular attentiveness is required while driving.
  • Brake if necessary.
