Resuming speed and distance control – RESUME
If the speed and distance control was interrupted with lever setting 3 (OFF), it can only be resumed when the vehicle is moving and no stationary object has been detected ahead.
Takeover prompt in active control mode (ACC active)
If adaptive cruise control has detected that braking assistance is required on the part of the driver, a warning signal sounds and a warning message appears on the multifunction display.
Insufficient braking during automatic deceleration through adaptive cruise control
In this case, the deceleration through adaptive cruise control is insufficient to prevent a collision.
Exceptional conditions with adaptive cruise control (ACC)
The adaptive cruise control is not available in the following cases:
If one of these exceptional situations occurs when adaptive cruise control (ACC) is switched on, adaptive cruise control (ACC) will be switched off.
A corresponding message appears on the multifunction display.
Traffic situations in which vehicles cannot be reliably detected
The radar sensor for adaptive cruise control (ACC) scans a narrow, cone-shaped area in front of your vehicle.
Depending on the traffic situation and the size of the vehicle up ahead, detection may be restricted or unstable. The system may brake too late or unexpectedly.
Stationary vehicles are not detected. The system cannot react to them.
