Fuses

Electrical shock
Replacing fuses or relays with the engine running or the ignition on could cause electrical shock.

• Always switch off the engine and the ignition when working on the electrical system.

Short-circuit
Working on the vehicle’s electrical system can cause a short-circuit. The short circuit can cause a fire.

• Always detach the negative terminal on the battery when working on the electrical system.

Improper intervention and incorrect accessories
Improper intervention in the fuse box and the use of the incorrect accessories can result in damage and malfunctions in electrical and electronic systems.

• Visit an authorized Porsche dealer. Porsche recommends an authorized Porsche dealer, as they have trained technicians and the necessary parts and tools.
• Only use accessories that have been approved by Porsche. For further information on authorized accessories: Contact an authorized Porsche dealer.

Relay

Only have the relay checked and replaced by an authorized Porsche dealer.

Checking and replacing fuses

To prevent short-circuits and overloading of the electrical system, the individual circuits are protected by fuses. One fuse box can be found at the right-hand side of the trunk in direction of travel. Two additional fuse boxes are located at the outer ends of the dashboard on the driver's and passenger's side.

The plastic gripper and spare fuses can be found in both fuse box covers at the outer ends of the dashboard on the driver's and passenger's side.

Information
Spare fuses in the fuse box covers:

1. Driver’s side: 7.5A and 10 A
2. Passenger’s side: 20 A and 25 A .

1. If possible, switch off the load with the defective fuse.
2. Open the fuse box cover.
3. Remove the fuse from its slot using the yellow plastic gripper D (Fig. 67) in order to check it.
   A blown fuse can be identified by the melted metal strip.
4. Insert a new fuse. The replacement fuse must have the same rated current as the one it is replacing.

Information
If the same fuse blows repeatedly, the cause must be rectified immediately.

1. Carefully lever off the plastic cover with a suitable object (e.g. screwdriver) and remove it.
2. Carefully remove the fuses using the plastic gripper D and replace them if necessary.
