Sealing the defective tire

Provisionally repaired tires
Damaged tires with tire sealant can burst or lose pressure in the event of inappropriate speed or continuous loading.

  • Sealing the tire with the tire sealant is only an emergency solution enabling you to drive to the nearest workshop.
  • Use the tire sealant only in the case of cuts or punctures no larger than 0.16 in. (4 mm).
  • Never use the tire sealant if the rim is damaged.
  • Have the tire replaced by an authorized Porsche dealer as soon as possible. Tell the workshop that the tire contains tire sealant.
  • Tire repairs are not allowed. e Avoid rapid accelerations and high cornering speeds.
  • Do not drive faster than the maximum permissible speed of 50 mph (80 km/h). (80 km/h).
  1. Observe the safety information and instructions for use in the separate operating instructions for the tire sealant and compressor.

In case of a flat tire, tire defects or tire damage can be sealed temporarily using the tire sealant provided in the vehicle. You will need the following to correctly seal a defective tire:

  1. The tire sealing compound kit can be found in the trunk and contains:

    1. Filler bottle
    2. Filler hose
    3. Valve turner
    4. Spare valve insert
    5. Sticker with the maximum permitted speed
    6. Operating instructions

Filling tire sealant

Flammable and harmful sealant
The sealant is highly flammable and harmful to health.

  • Fire, naked flames and smoking are prohibited when handling tire sealant.
  • Avoid contact with skin, eyes and clothing.
  • Keep tire sealant away from children.
  • Do not inhale vapors.

In the event of contact with the tire sealant
Irritation or allergic reactions after contact with tire sealant.

  • Avoid contact with skin, eyes and clothing.
  • If tire sealant gets on your skin or into your eyes, thoroughly rinse the affected part of your body immediately with plenty of water.
  • Change soiled clothing immediately.
  • Consult a doctor immediately in the event of an allergic reaction.
  • If tire sealant is swallowed, thoroughly rinse out the mouth without delay and drink plenty of water. Do not induce vomiting. Consult a doctor immediately.

Loss of pressure in the tire
A tire pressure sensor that is soiled with tire sealant cannot determine the tire pressure correctly.

  • When the defective tire is changed, have the tire pressure sensor replaced as well.
