External devices (e.g., navigation equipment, head up displays, etc.) connected to the diagnostic socket can impair the function of the vehicle systems.
Loose devices or hanging cables in the driver footwell
Loose devices or hanging cables in the driver's footwell can impair the free movement of the pedals or catch between the pedals when braking or changing direction.
If external devices (e.g., navigation equipment, head up displays, etc.) are operated from the diagnostic socket while the ignition is switched off, the battery will be discharged. If the vehicle is idle for some time, the battery may be fully discharged and may be damaged (total discharge).
