Deactivating the function

  • Press button on the front control panel.
    The indicator light on the button goes out. or
    Switch on ignition.
    The indicator light on the button indicates the previous setting.

Information

  • If the battery voltage is too low, REST mode is restricted initially and then switched off.

Air-conditioning settings on the multi-function display
Additional settings relating to vehicle air-conditioning can be adjusted in the multi-function display on the instrument panel.

For information on air-conditioning settings on the multi-function display:

  • Please see the chapter "SETTING AIR CONDITIONING" on page 136.

Air flow
Three air flow settings are available in automatic mode:

  1. "Soft":
    Recommended for passengers sensitive to drafts with a preference for gentle air-conditioning.
  2. "Normal":
    Default setting.
  3. "Strong":
    Stronger ventilation in the passenger compartment.
    The air flow is clearly noticeable.

Extended ventilation panel
The extended ventilation panel on top of the dashboard can be activated or deactivated separately in the multi-function display on the instrument panel.

The air flow in the passenger compartment is more diffuse and less direct.

The automatic control on the air-conditioning system adjusts the air flow quantity automatically.

Automatic air-recirculation
For information on automatic air-recirculation mode:

  • Please see the chapter "AIR-RECIRCULATION MODE" on page 72.

Air vents
There are air vents on the front dashboard, on the rear center console and on the B-pillar that can be opened and closed manually. The direction of the air flow can also be adjusted.

Opening air vents

  • Turn rotary knob clockwise.

Closing air vents

  • Turn rotary knob counter-clockwise.

Changing air flow direction

  • Swivel vent vanes in the desired direction.

Fresh-air intake
To ensure unhindered air intake:

  • Keep the fresh-air intake between the windshield and the engine compartment lid free from snow, ice and leaves.
